i wanted to know if i would be able to take out my hard drive from my recently crashed laptop and connect it somewhere in order to view or move all my data

you can remove it from the laptop (unscrew the cover) and buy a laptop IDE to desktop IDE converter and plug it into a computer as a slave.

i.e. something like This.

more help

So i got the IDE adapter and when i started the computer it seemed to do some kind of scan NTFS scan then went on to startup XP. Now the HD shows up in my computer but it wont let me open the owner folder in documents and settings. Tells me "access denied" and when I leave the mouse over the folder it reads "folder is empty". Is it that during that scan it wiped out everything in that folder ????

I pray that isn't the case because all of the files i was trying to recover are on that side.

hard disc failure!

how can i get ma hd up again after fallin from a height?
is there a universal reader for the smaller disc inside the hd?
