I was playing far cry 2 with my Asus 5850 at stock setting and my amd 955 only overclock 100Mhz so it was at 3.3Ghz... It just died, the whole computer shut off. My screen went blue and said no signal (obviously because the comps off).

When I turned the computer back on, it started running. The power supply fan was spinning, the GPU fan was spinning, the heatsink on my cpu was spinning, all seemed well, until my screen stayed blue saying no signal.

Im running an hdmi chord form my 5850 to a 32" proscan lcd, I play hdmi audio through the 5850 as well.

any advise.. Im worried..

Edit: My temps were only at 51c max while gaming.

I fixed it. well.. it fixed itself. I pouted in the corner for 5 minutes then turned it on. It started up just fine. It did a system reboot "overclock error" Which is weird because My overclock was find according to prime 95 and playing other games for a while.

end thread/ unless there is something else someone thinks is wrong

Man i would also pout in a corner if my computer didn't boot i've had times where it just didn't want to load the OS just a black screen lol BTW i did look that person up in your avatar :)

Hi kyleswitch.

You might want to pull the RAM out and clean the contacts.
The symptom you described is quite often caused by oxidization on the RAM contacts, caused by humidity and general exposure to air.
It is very common.
If the RAM is moved or reseated, it is enough to cause a better contact, and hence the intermittent nature.
As for the overclocking error, I know that when Asus motherboard based systems reboot after a boot failure, that message will be displayed, and simply entering the BIOS and exiting will remove the message.
I hope this is of assistance to you.
