Comp won't accept CORRECT master password...

Well, my parents have an older P4 Dell (no more warranty) computer with the basic version of Windows XP. Before when you turned on the computer, and before you would get to the desktop, it would bring you to a screen asking for a password. I went into the control panel and removed the use of the password/password screen. Now, all of sudden when booting up it is still bringing up the password screen, but not accepting the original CORRECT password. What can I do to either get around...or REALLY eliminate it? Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

Boot to safe mode, log onto the administrator account and do a system restore.

If this safemode boot works, you won't have to do a restore. Just load the users/accounts control panel and modify them.

Did your parents change the password? Have you checked with them?

There is another method to getting in and changing the passwords under XP if you really need to. It's a bit easier than method bitstech mentions, but you will need your XP install disk.
