I just bought 2x2gb of ram to double my ram size of 4gs to 8gs.

My motherboard has six total slots, 4 blue and 2 white.
When building my computer the computer only boot when both ram sticks are in the white slots.

Now when i put these two new sticks in, the computer boots, but nothing comes up on the screen?

is there anything i can do?

thanks

Have you tried putting the new ram in the white slots and leave the old stick out? If so, does it boot or not?

So it doesn't boot with all the sticks installed? If so, run a program called memtest+ and make it a bootable cd. Let it run for an hour or so. If it reports errors, there may be a faulty stick. You would remove a stick and test again until no errors.

I am not to experienced on this but there could be a bios setting that needs to be changed. You may want to have a look in the bios.

i found the problem.

I didnt know that you had to have the sticks seperate, such as

None - Ram - Ram - None - Ram - Ram

checked, it recognized all 8 gigs.

Thanks for your time though :)

I learned something today
