Compaq Lappy acting funny

Ok, my laptop is a Compaq Presario C300 and just today before going shopping, I had restarted the computer. I come back to find all it's doing is flashing a message every once in awhile that reads:

Intel UNDI, RXE-20 (build 082)
Copyright (C) 1997-2000 Intel Corporation
For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI FAST ETHERNET CONTROLLER v2.13 (020326)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM

All I'm able to do is press ctrl+alt+del and that will bring back to the flashing screen, even though it starts out like it would normally, and the only other thing I can do is press esc to get into the DOS or whatever it is. I'm running a diagnostic on it as I type this.

I have no clue what's going on. It apperantly has somethin to do with this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preboot_Execution_Environment

However, that doesn't help me to change, or turn off whatever I need to.

Go into your bios and disable network/lan boot. Thats the message you are getting. Make sure the cdrom is set for 1st boot device and the hard drive 2nd boot device. If everything was working fine then maybe you have a bad hard drive, which you can download the drive makers disk diagnostic utility to test the drive.
