Compaq Memory HELP!!!

My friend has a Compaq Presario SR1103wm and I have new memory to put in it. It says it requires DDR 333Mhz PC2700 SDRAM. I put the two chips in it and they do not work. I just receive one long VERY LOUD beep. Upon further inspection the memory inside the computer says the following on it. HYS64D32300GU-6-C 32Mx64 SDRAM, below that it says C3E42703 PC2700U-25330-AO. My memory says HYS72D64300GBR-6-C MDD333-64x72R
C2V45111036. WHY the hell are these chips not working in the computer if they are both DDR SDRAM 333Mhz PC2700 CL2.5 ECC Registered? Is there a way to rig it so they DO work in this computer?

I am not using the older memory and newer memory together. I have one gig of the new memory and use that. Why does it not work? It matches the exact specifications asked for. I think. Is there someplace I can go to see if the EXACT STICKS OF MEMORY I AM USING are usable or not? Like a website like Crucial that lets me choose the model of computer and the brand/model of memory and see if they work together?

On the new memory chip. Are they memory chips on both sides of the stick instead of just one? Thats called double sided memory and most older computers don't like it.

No, sorry. Sometimes certain RAM just wont work in certain motherboards, or with other sticks of different RAM. There are way to many different brands and models for motherboard manufactures to test them all out to see which ones work.

However, I think you're problem is that you're using ECC RAM, and a lot of computers, especially older ones, do not support ECC RAM.
