Close all open windows and browsers, and hit "Fix Checked".

Find and delete these folders\files.

C:\Program Files\ClockSync
C:\PROGRAM FILES\WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER\iedll.exe
LOCK1.EXE < This is probably in the system or system32 folder.

Run this online scan and save the results.
http://www.pandasoftware.com/products/activescan.htm

Then reboot and post a new Hijackthis log, along with the results of the activescan.

i've tried hijackthis before and it did nothing for me... i've had a friend who was very familiar with the program go through and tell me exactly what i needed to get rid of. i did it and my computer got worse. (but that's just my experience)

i would go with the Spyware Doctor, or any of the 5 star rated spyware remover programs from www.download.com

i prefer the spyware doctor though because it totally eliminates everything harmful on your system and increases system performance... aka speeds it up

How familiar exactly was your friend with Hijackthis? Your machine may have got worse because of bad advice. Just "fixing" with it won't fix the problem.

i prefer the spyware doctor though because it totally eliminates everything harmful on your system

Unfortunately, no it doesn't, neither does any other program. Although running a combination of the highly rated spyware removers will remove a lot of the most common problems. :)

well i may have bent the truth a little bit when i said it removed everything but it definitely removed most of the trojans, spyware, and adware programs on my computer. also, it sped it up a great deal which satisfied me.

what's your computer's status right now? still laggin?

Here's the update. Lock1 was a major problem a month ago. It was causing my computer to lock up on startup. I was able to get by that if I hit CTRL + ALT + DEL and ended it. It would come back a few times so I gave it the 3 finger solute many times before I could be on my way. I have tried to rid the computer of Lock1 and I cant seem to do it. No matter what I do it comes back. It's no longer a running program (or so the Task Manager says...eventhought it prob is) but it keeps appearing in the regisrty. I also can not locate ClockSync. I ran Spybot S+D v1.4 and it found 31 problems. When I went to fix those problems it locked up, which I expected because it did that last time. I uninstalled it and downloaded it again and I fixed 30 of those problems. The 1 problem I didnt bother to mess with was "DyFuCA". Sounds lovely huh? I have tried to get rid of it but everytime I do, the screen goes blank, and I have to power down and try it over again. So Im not going to mess with "DyFuCA" until I know how to deal with it.

I tried the ActiveScan but that doesnt work. I tried it twice, restarted the computer, then tried it 3 more times. I get this message everytime:

Error on downloading ActiveScanAn error has occurred downloading Panda ActiveScan. Please repeat the process. If the error occurs again, restart your system and try againPossible causes of this error are:

Not allowing the application's ActiveX control to be downloaded.

Problems with the Internet connection.

The error could be due to a download error or an installation error due to lack of hard disk space, privileges etc.,...

As you're running ME, we can't run the scan i'd like. Try SpySweeper.

Download the trial version of Spy Sweeper from Here

Install it using the Standard Install option. (You will be asked for your e-mail address, it is safe to give it. If you receive alerts from your firewall, allow all activities for Spy Sweeper)

You will be prompted to check for updated definitions, please do so.
(This may take several minutes)

Click on Options > Sweep Options and check Sweep all Folders on Selected drives. Check Local Disc C. Under What to Sweep, check every box.

Click on Sweep and allow it to fully scan your system.

When the sweep has finished, click Remove. Click Select All and then Next

From 'Results', select the Session Log tab. Click Save to File and save the log somewhere convenient.

Exit Spy Sweeper.

Post the SpySweeper log here.

Now Im REALLY F'in pissed. I had another post typed up and this POS computer decided I wasnt going to, so now its gone. Upon trying to type it again, it also said Nope. Every button on the keyboard had a new function. "N" was "Delete everything that he just typed and go to the top of the screen". Conveinent if you ask me. Ok. Back to the post.

Spy Sweeper was a failure. Everytime I opened it, it would freeze and Id have to give it the 3 Finger Solute to kill it. I attempted to uninstall it then reinstall it but the Uninstall would stop responding everytime it started. I also now have 2 "Wrsssdk" programs running and if I let them keep running, this computer lags so much more than it is already. So what should I do? Should I assign myself a seat in the gunner chair and blast away at the registry for Spy Sweeper lol?

Same thing as the last 5 tries,
Error on downloading ActiveScanAn error has occurred downloading Panda ActiveScan. Please repeat the process. If the error occurs again, restart your system and try againPossible causes of this error are:

Problems with the Internet connection.

i've had the same errors before with different programs. in the end, i resulted back the system restore disk... did you receive one with your computer package?

I actually dont have the CD. The last guy who we payed to work on this computer ran off with it "accidently". Id like to fix this thing and find out whats causing the problems. I learn from mistakes and I like to experiment. I never throw in the white flag.....unless its wrapped around a hammer. That's why I dont want to format or restore it to factory condition.

i admire your determination. see i have a short temper and i happen to want to throw in the towel quick before i get destructive. this might sound a little crazy but like a year ago my old system wouldn't start up. something was wrong with the power generation within the tower. i took it apart and examined it and i couldnt find the problem (probably because i wasnt to familiar with the anatomy of a computer back then). so i got so frustrated that i took a hammer and beat the shit out of it. then 10 minutes later i wished i didnt do it lol
