I'm not sure if this is the right forum. I have a Compaq V6000 that my daughter gave to me.It has Win Xp Professional SP/3(Media Center Edition-Version 2002/OEM) and other software on it. Plus tons of stuff I don't need. The hdd is almost completly full. We could not find the disk or backup disk for the computer.I would like to wipe the hdd and start over.I have the XP key from the computer. Is there any way to burn or ? the OS and some of the other programs to either a CD or USB Flash Drive? Then format the drive and reinstall XP and other programs.Or if I back up the hdd can I choose what to put back on the hdd?
Sorry if this is not clear what I want to do.
Thanks

Check via disk management to see if there is a recovery partition on the hard drive. There should be. I believe you had to press the F10 or F11 button to boot into the recovery partition on bootup.

If it doesn't, why don't you just uninstall everything you don't need?
