Which is better? I am looking at buying a ACER new laptop, and they have some older models (I believe) on sale right now with the AMD Sempron 3100+ 1.8GHz .... or I could wait and look at the new models coming out for the Back to School sales that have the AMD Turion ML-32-1.7ghz ... which is what is in my price range... which do you think would be the better choice? Buy a year old model or wait for the latest and greatest?

I would suggest getting a Turion X2, they really aren't more expensive than the regular Turions.

well I can't find a turion x2 anywhere else, and the core duo laptops are all over $1000 on other websites.....so unless you want to buy that and have it shipped to me, then to you, you will have to go with a sempron or a turion single core.
Otherwise, look on your canadien sites (I already checked best buy and tigerdirect, they both don't carry the turion x2 and are expensive) and see if they have anything else.
