Which laptop is better? (listed below) It will be used for light video gaming (WoW) and light Photoshop editing, it will also be used for surfing the web and video editing.

1) HP

2) Toshiba

They both seem pretty similar, I'm wonder which is better, the one with faster CPU but less RAM or slower CPU but more RAM? So far I've asked 2 other people and one said get the HP the other said get the Toshiba.

Also, do you have any recommendations for a good laptop under $400?

Thanks!

Okay thanks.

I also found this Gateway laptop, seems to be better than the above 2, what do you guys think?

Many years ago when Gateway was building desktop computers in a farm barn, I bought my first real computer from them. Back then they 100% tested each system before they shipped it. And it was a really good for (that early time) computer.

Years later just like Dell things have really changed, and IMHO not for the better for any of us would be buyers.

Myself I would not buy a Dell or a Gateway system.

I just bought my first laptops, one ASER e-machine two ASUSs one H.P. and one Netbook Toshiba. And so far I am happy with them all.:)

Okay, but what's wrong with the Gateway? It is better than the above two (HP and Toshiba) no? Especially for the price.
(I have two Gateway laptops already, and both are fine, one of them is about 3-4 or more years old and is still fine. Maybe some people where just unlucky with their Gateway computers but I don't see anything wrong with the ones I have, at least)

If you have good experiences with gateway, then go for it. I have two gateway laptops myself, they are over 6 year old and still going strong. I don't see why is a bad idea to get gateway; to me every laptop from any manufcature have chance to fail. if you want it to last long then buy the extend warranty.
Cheers.

Ya, I've seen more expensive laptops from different manufactures also go bad. I personally have enough experience to fix any problems that my laptop may have so I'm not worried at all. The Gateway was just bought a few hours ago, it's really good (especially for that price).

All laptops are built in China for all Mfgs. so it's a crap shoot as to how long any will stay working. As a Company I just do not trust Dell. and Gateway to support the products they sell.;)
