Comparing CPUS

How do the Intel Pentium 4s compare to the Pentium D and those to the Core Duo? Which Pentium will give you the most bang for your buck. And which one is the best for gaming that doesnt exceed a standard budget.

It's very hard to say, since they are completly different. The Pentium 4 is a single core, and the Pentium D is a dual core. The Core Duo is also a dual-core, but uses a different architecture so the speeds cant be compared.

Well I have a fairly older P4 2.8 GHZ and I know someone that just bought a brand new computer with a Pentium D and my computer is still way faster than theirs.

The slowest Pentium D is 2.66Ghz, and your 2.8Ghz pay be faster in a few select tasks, however overall his processor is significantly better then yours.

And it may also seem slower because he may have less RAM, slower Hard Drive, or worse video card (depending on what you were using).
