Is there an issue between these two?

VIDEO CARD - Radeon HD 4850:

MONITOR:

I just noticed the video card only does HD and DVI while the monitor only does VGA/D-Sub.

Also can this card run Crysis on high settings without overclocking? I hear it has a lot of issues with overheating so i'm getting this case to hopefully keep it cool.

The video card will come with an HD to vga adapter for use there. The lcd supports 1440x900 being a recent 19" widescreen model. That won't be any problem. The Viewsonic 19" widescreen lcd here however sees both vga and HD inputs to make life easier of course.

I can take a mid range card and run just about any game at high settings without even thinking about ocing the card itself. The 900 has been a great case here while those planning to add liquid cooling tend to complain about space being limited to some degree.

Sounds great.

What do you mean the Viewsonic sees both VGA and HD inputs?

DVI is certainly an improvement over vga. A newer model lcd by that brand or another would be the preferred option with many seeing both DVI and vga inputs for use with older cards or in many cases onboard video.

The DVI supports the newer HD type display and higher screen resolutions seeing an improvement in visual clarity. You can still run that model lcd with the new card but wouldn't see all of the benefits that DVI offers.

High Definition Multimedia Interface compared to Digital Video Input compared then to standard vga used on both lcds and crts. HDMI supports Blu Ray as well as tranmision of uncompressed high definition digital video. It's a step up from DVI in that sense.

Digital video or DVI is a good leap for clarity over vga while HDMI is a big one seen there. The Radeon 4850 is the first line of video cards to see 8 channel LCPM audio output over HDMI. All this blasts the old vga analog standard out of the water.
