Compatibility or DOA?

Hey guys, I built a desktop over Christmas and it worked for a while running x86 windows 7. But I needed x64 for my video editing programs and when I upgraded I was constantly blue screened. If I remember correctly it was 0x0000007e? I tried several install discs also. Thanks.

Assuming nothing more than a FRESH install of Windows changed from your previous x86 install, I'd say it's a driver issue of some sort. Try newer/older drivers.

We also need much more info regarding the blue screens to diagnose anything. When do they occur? What's going on? What do they say? Get something like Bluescreenview and give us some logs. Also see if they are consistent.

Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to test out your hardware. Run Memtest86 for at least one full pass (overnight would be best), and Seatools. If these pass, I'd also suggest something like Prime95 with HWMonitor to check your temps.
