Compatible?

Gah, stupid SATA/ATA/IDE prefferences!

Well, will these two components work together? I'm confused on the interface compatibility...

CD/DVD Drive

Mobo
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-123-219&depa=1

While both say SATA interfaces on the front, the Drive makes me wonder because of the other list of specifications lower down. The Drive says SATA on the top but ATAPI / E-IDE on the bottom. *Confused*

Help is appreciated!

well the as far as i can see cd drive has only SATA connector , no IDE. mobo has 2 sata connectors, so one you will use for HDD, one for CD-Rom, so its gonna work. However i would personally buy a IDE cd drive (mobo has 2 ide connectors, since i dont think cd-roms need sata speed , and IDE cdrom will leave you one sata free to connect another harddrive.

IDE doesn't really mean anything. SATA & PATA (called IDE, incorrectly) are both IDE interfaces

" SATA & PATA (called IDE, incorrectly) are both IDE interfaces "

as far as i know that not true, but after I saw you specs i trust it will work. but how and where are you going to buy them,
if you buying in a shop, just ask or look for your self.
