Complete computer idiot needs help

i have this gateway computer that i bought about 2 years ago. the only thing i really use it for is surfing the internet and storing pictures. just yesterday, when i turn it on nothing comes up on the screen and the computer just makes a beeping noise. it doesn't even sound like anything is loading it just sits there and beeps. can anyone help me to know what might be wrong whether it is completely shot or it is just a small prob. thank you.

no, there is 5 long beeps (at least i would call them long) then a pause where the light around the power button blinks off then back on, and then the same beeps just stay continuous until i shut it off myself.
 
Try removing all the memory sticks and reseating them. Most likely you have a memory issue.
