or copy and compress ,I want to copy a windows 98 disk to a floppy to install on another computer that dosent have a disk drive but has a floppy is it possible to do this:mad:

First of all, wrong forum.

To answer you question, it's not possible. A CD is 650-700MB, whereas a floppy is 1.44MB. You'd need almost 500 floppy discs to fit an entire CD! Most of the installation files are already compressed, you can't compress them further.

You could always borrow the CD-ROM drive from another computer to install Windows, though.

borrow drive?

can I use a drive from a pc ,will it plug into a dell lap top

Not if its an Internal CD-Drive, you would either need an IDE-to-USB adapter or an external CD-Drive. But this will only work if he has a USB port on his laptop.

no. you will have to need a cd drive on the latop. since the installlation will need the cd to be running while it installs and reboots.
