CompUSA to close

truly sucks, there was nowhere else to buy parts here aside from the extremely limited selection they have at best buy and circuit city.
 
Hmmm... no effect on me, we've never had a CompUSA around here. I'm a cheap skate anyway and I always look for the best deal online.
 
Yes, I read that today as well, first my favourite australian retailer goes broke, now compusa is closing.
 
We never had a CompUSA around where I live, so I've never even been inside one. Although it's too bad they are closing.
 
There's one about an hour from me. They should be having some closeout deals if they're going down right? If that's so, I should take a trip over there to grab some good deals.
 
:( And I still have one of their P166MHz systems... and it was a dream... only $1000 back then... Bye CompUSA... :(

Should be. The one by me closed last spring and I got some killer deals. Yeah, no where local to buy pc parts really sucks if you just can't wait for it in the mail.
 
I haven't been in a CompUSA in like over 8 years. We have one in KC, but when Microcenter came to town, I ended up just going there. The last thing I bought at Comp USA was some CDs for my 2x CD burner I had back in the day.
 
CompUSA online site doesn't show a listing for KCK or KCMO :( I wonder if they'll have any good online deals?

It was off 119th and Metcalf in Overland Park, KS over across from the best buy. I hardly ever venture down that anymore. Like I said, haven't been there in years it could already be gone for all I know.
 
Call information and get a number for CompUSA in overland Park, that will tell you if it is still there. If you have a cell phone they offer that for free sometimes.
 
All the CompUSA's closed in St Louis last year! I went in there all the time, but never really bought anything. It always seemed like they never had any of their sale items in stock, but they had tons of the slightly more expensive items in stock.
-- The close out deals were not anything great, because what they didn't sell they would ship to another store.

I bought a couple fans from them and a cheap case. I also bought to external drive enclosures. One even says CompUSA on it.! It could be a collectors item now. :-)
 
I've never bought anything from CompUSA but I had a friend who worked there. Sucks for him, he'll have to find another job...and his brother as well.
