Computer automatically on & cant power off

Hey, can someone help me please, I am trying to help a friend fix his computer. As soon as the plug goes on the computer starts without pressing the power button, and when you hold the power button in, it doesnt shut down or stop.

any idea what to do?

push button is prob damaged inside so its perm on, you need to unplug the 2 pin wire on the motherboard that says power/on and then switch it on

if it doesnt boot up straight away it means the switch is brocked, however if it does the same there might be something wrong with the motherboard

Also, I forgot to mention that no graphics come up either when it automatically boots up, just the orange light on the monitor.

you plug in the moniter right? are you sure everything is plug in correctly? might be your video card or is it onboard?

make sure that your cpu fan connector is in place in the motherboard.

I have tried both slots with the monitor wire, both onboard connection and the graphics card.

any other ideas?

Are there any beeps when it boots up? (one short beep means successful, but others can diagnose a problem)
