Computer boot problem!

This was a working computer, then it got the blue screen that had (unmountable_boot). I thought i would just wipe it out and reinstall Windows XP but when i went to install it with the CD, it would not boot from it. I changed the bios to boot from cd drive first and still wouldn't. I then tried to format the drive with a floppy and same thing, no boot files found. I then reset the cmos on the board and same thing, would this be a bad cmos chip and so i would have to replace the motherboard or what else could it be. The drives are seen in the bios but it seems that it doesn't know what files it needs to get off of the discs. Can anyone help me on this.

The last time i have seen that i put the HD in another computer with XP, rename bootcfg with bootcfg.old and copy the other computer bootcfg ( i believe if it's Windows - System32), after that everything was fine.

Hope this helps :)
