Computer Build Help

Hello,
I am new to computer building and am looking to build one in the near future. I will be playing games like Skyrim, Terraria, Minecraft. I will also be using it to edit videos and record music as well. My budget is going to be from $1,000-1,500. I will also need a keyboard and mouse too.
Thanks for your help!

do you need the monitor too, or just the tower, keyboard, and mouse, and do you want a fancy mouse and keyboard or just some normal plain cheapies, can prob get good ones of both for ~100 (50 each) and be fine.

I don't need a monitor, but if I do I'll pick out a cheap one to start out, and as for the mouse and keyboard, it doesn't really matter, just as long as they aren't complete crap haha.

Dear linkin. Like the selection but for him to save money the ssd is not entirely necessary. Also if he wants to save money amd works equally well. That's what I have and i see no hiccups in my gaming. Matter of preference and money for people on a budget.

My amd system is around 1300.
AMD fx 8150 3.6 ghz $265
Crosshair formula 5 $240
Corsair 2x4 DDR3 2000MHz $110(I have 2 so $220)
Ultra x4 gold 1000w psu $200
Thermaltake frio ock aftermarket cpu cooler $80
Thermaltake chaser mk-1 full tower case $160
500GB oem hard drive $25
Windows 7 $100
Would recommend better hd than just $25

this will kill that other guys amd system and any game out for the next 3 years probably, but same as linkin, this ssd should be big enough for a little while and grab a 1tb on ebay or something, i think best buy still has good prices, last i looked you could still get a 1tb seagate 7200rpm barracuda for like 60/70, so look at those, and then pick a mouse and keyboard for yourself, you might want to spend the little extra on something nicer than the plain ones

i think the case expresses yourself and i shouldnt suggest one to you. Monitors come on your own preference as well. the total of everything above is 1143. You can add on or change out things to fit your budget the way you want it. it may not be as fast as intel but it will definitely be able to handle almost everything you throw at it. If anything get 2 video cards to crossfire for better graphics. AMD and Intel are a matter of preference. Intel to me is too expensive and not worth the money if you can get the similar results.

jonnyp, I think I might go with what you have given me. Thanks for the help! Hopefully soon I'll have the money to buy that thing.

Just wanted to give you guys an update on my purchases. I have bought the case on that jonnyp posted and the PSU and Ram he suggested also. And I bought the Logitech mouse that linkin suggested. I got the case for $119.99($94.99 with rebates) and the mouse for $35.99. And the PSU and Ram were the same price. In all I saved around $130, which I think is pretty good.

Also, is a mirco going into a full tower kind of a dumb thing to do, or is it smarter to do since it would allow for more air flow?
One more quick thing, would I need a sound card? Cause I have pretty good quality speakers, with sub-woofer. Just wanting to know.
