Ok so I have a case that I like but the system inside it a bit out dated I am pretty much looking for somthing that is going to be good for watching movies , downs , good sound quility and fast , at least 500gb

Before I jump in the world of part ( since I have no exp buying parts and putting them together) I am in need of a bit of advise on what is what .Anything will help.IE brands , systems , mother boards processors.

I am still unaware what is better an AMD or intel pentium .I ahve always gone with Intel but I have never quite got a clear differance in the two.

Oh man where to begin? lol! There is so much information out there about the parts and what not that it's going to be overwhelming for someone just jumpin in. Trust me, we've all been there. More or less you learn along the way about what brands you prefer and the like. It's all personal choice.

For me though...

Ram: OCZ, Patriot, Corsair, Crucial, and Mushkin are my favorites.

CPU: I'm an AMD guy ;)

Hard drive: I prefer Western Digital.

Motherboard: Asus, Gigabyte, DFI, and MSI are my brands of choice.

Power supplies: PC Power & Cooling, OCZ, Thermaltake, and corsair are my choices.

Graphics cards: EVGA, BFG, and Asus are the only brands I trust.
 
Almost exactly the same as him except...

Graphics cards: VisionTek, ATI, Nivada, ATI 4870.... *hint hint*:P

I have herd people refer me to OCZ a few times .
as far as the processor I have always used or had in my computers intel pentium so I am not to sure what the dif is between taht and AMD .
 
I am going to stick with my pentium processor I think.,..but I am still trying to figure what sound card and mother board I should get
