Computer building problems

Well I just wanted to create a thread where people would post what kind of problems they had while building their computer, and how they fixed it.

Not bad of a thread. I ran into one instance where someone had a problem replacing their motherboard. Everyone was trying to narrow down if it was the power supply or bad motherboard or Video card not working or ribbon cable put incorrectly. They didnt know why it wouldn't boot up. Although, a motherboard can be a Socket 478, not all will support the "D" chips. He had a Celeron D. What the motherboard was doing was cutting off the power to the D chip so it won't burn up and prevented it to boot up- even though power is going through all the other components. Motherboards these days, so nice to people.

My computer was in a Thermaltake Tsunami once, and the screw holes weren't right; my motherboard was hanging by one screw! What did I do?? Nothing.

Well, this thread wasn't very succesful. I think it needs a bump.

Sheesh... That's crazy! You could of damaged that motherboard...

Me? No problems with hardware, however, BIOS settings were a pain. Had to manually change bios settings my to get the CPU to be recognised as an AMD Athlon XP 2400+.

It was my first build, didnt use risers for the motherboard at first

. Of course the comp wouldn't run, then realized I didnt use them. Reinstalled with risers and it worked, of course I think it fried my mobo fan, replacement coming...

Don't blame me, i didnt know what the hell they were!

Only problem I had was that the molex conecotr with 2 pins designated for fans didnt work with my case fans... other then that it was smooth sailing.
