Computer built doesnt work

So today after a month of research 1,700 dollars in parts and 3 hours of arguing over where it all fitted in my new computer didnt turn on
these are my specs
NZXT phantom case
GA-Z68X-UD5-B3 mobo
GTX 570 HD EVGA graphics card
Corsair porfessional series gold AX850 powersupply
G.Skill ripjaws 8gb 2x4gb RAM
wstern digital 2tb black hard drive
i5 2500k processor
pioneer disk drive and windows 7
so after all our construction done we were almost finished with just a couple of cables left namely the cases inbuilt fans they were male connectors however the motherboard Sys fan connections were also male so we couldnt figure out what to do couldnt find any guides for these so i finally convinced everyone to plug in turn on the powersupply press the power button since we didnt need the fans for it to turn on for a resounding nothing
So my question is what have i most likely missed.\
Thankyou

This may sound dumb but did you connect the reset/power cable of the case to the mainboard correctly? Did you turn on the PSU?

If you have nothing, then check the front header cables are correctly connected, the 12V CPU cable on the PSU is connected, all other power connections and yeah, the switch on the back of the PSU too.

Whatever you do, don't get frustrated. Go back through your mobo manual and check everything. If you have the 4 pin molex connectors just use those for your fans. I didn't even use the sysfan pins on my mobo.

There should be a single female 4-pin connector on the NZXT phantom. All you need to do is plug that into the power supply. Everything else is connected, unless you have the optional front, side, or second top fan.

ok is there any easy way to check without unplugging everything that the problem is with the PSU cable
but yeah i think ill just check everything again and again until its perfect

be aware that if you have too many standoffs in the case, and one is touching the motherboard to the case...you will short the board out, and it will not turn on...check your motherboard standoffs. i had that one happen to me, system would not power on at all

You do have the 24 pin motherboard power connector plugged in? Like said, is the power supply switch on the back turned on, have the power button and reset button backwards, a standoff in the wrong place and grounding on the bottom of the board?

is the motherboard fryed if that happens or do i just need to check its not touching a standoff the phantom only has screw ins though which were all to the ATX form factor but ill try and check for any rogue standoffs

Okay, first thing to do is not to rush. Take everything out of the case, and slowly put it all back together on a piece of cardboard. First things to check:

CPU, Motherboard & Video card power plugs
Power switch in PSU
Front panel power button/LED connections

The power connectors are simple, as is the switch. Make sure they are plugged in and on. The front panel connections can be tricky. Just remember that the side with writing on the connectors faces down. Consult the motherboard manual to find out exactly where they are supposed to go.

Update mate about your Problem?check your MB manual mate i think you plug the wrong cord in there in the reset and power panel or either check your PSU unit the safety switch, turn it on. do you have a LED light in your MOBO?
