Computer Case Problem

So a very weird thing happens to my computer. When I put it into my case it turns on for a second and then turns off. As soon as I remove it from the case it works. I'm guessing this is because something is causing a short circuit inside the case... Is it possible that the fact that the motherboard is mounted on a huge metal plate causes the problem? If yes, how can I prevent this from happening? And who in the world designs cases like this???

Did you install the proper amount of standoffs between the case and motherboard and in the correct places?

What case is this? Like above about the standoffs, plus does the cases motherboard plate have pre formed risers?

Check the case front power switch , pull the bezel off and look to see if the switch is NOT hot glues close...I had a case that the power switch was hot glue/stuck on closed, It was always going on before you even touch the switch..

Without the standoffs this sort of thing will happen. The standoffs are brass usually and they prevent the board from shorting on the case. Make sure you use the correct number of standoffs and make sure you put them in the right places.

I will, and I have no idea why I forgot to use them...
