computer crashes every time...

Every time I insert a USB flash drive into my computer and began transferring files, my computer would freeze up or I end up getting a bsod. Is it a driver issue? Motherboard issue? OS issue? Virus? or other?

I am using a custom build AMD 4400+ Dual-core, 2gb of ram, 320 gb hdd.
 
yeah a while back my computer couldnt even recongnize the USB devices i have plugged into my USB hub but then it worked again after a few days o.O weird
