Computer crashes then works then crashes

Hi. I just got back from europe and find out that someone has been using the computer and now it wont work. When you turn it on, before it goes into the windows mode it says somethin like set proper boot device or insert bood devise and press any key. I went into bios and tried every single boot device. I then just screwed around wiht the comp and after I unplugged the power to my secondary slave hardrive, it worked. So then i put the power back into the slave and then the computer worked. Later the computer froze and then i tried to restart. Same message came up again. Why is my computer switching constantly from working to not working and to working again. I have a
AMD 3700+ Sandiego core
ASUS A8V Deluxe
corsair twin xms 1 gig of memory
Ultra x connect power supply
128mb ATI ALL In Wonder 9600
The temp i noticed has increased since i came back. It was around 28-32 stable but now it is near the 40's could that be the problem?

Idle temps im assuming


Anyways, to answer your question ... Control Panel --> Administrative Tools --> Event Log ... assuming you turned your computer off during the vacation, do any entries appear during that time?
