Pls help. I had to reformat a hard drive on a work comp (IBM) and install Windows XP Pro on it, now it does not start up properly. It takes about 3-4 tries in the morning to start the comp. After that it works fine all day and I can restart it as many times during the day as i want- no problem. Next morning it would not start again. I have to turn it off and on 3-4 times, othervise it shows me black screen with options to start windows normally or in safe mode. If i click on either one it will show me log on screen and automaticly restart itself taking me to system check up or options(start win normally or in a safe mode) screen.
Pls help.
THANKS :)

it could be a problem with the boot.ini file but that would normally cause no boot at all. also check your cpu temperature, if its taking 3-4 before it will work then it could be that the cpu temperature is to high because the fan hasnt started working properly.
you should check that your heatsink is attached properly and the right amount of thermal paste is used.
