Hello,

I have a computer and it doesn't start. I was using it normally, then unplugged from power because of storm and when I connected it back, it haven't start.
My examination:
- Power supply is working properly - tested by connecting green wire (PS.ON) with black (GND) - power supply fan starts and then measuring voltages on wires - all good
- I have lubricated contacts on mainboard due to lot of dust inside
- When pressing power button - it does absolutely nothing - no fan starts, no led flashes,...
- I thought about testing power button connection and operation, but don't know what wires to test

Please, could you give me some advice, what to try? How can I prove the mainboard is dead?

Thanks,
I.

Unplugging it from the power doesn't always help as power surges can come through the phone line or internet cable and zap your system that way. Most likely you have motherboard damage now. Is your ethernet port integrated into the motherboard?

Thanks for the reply,
I am connected to the internet using 2,4 GHz wireless on rooftop. There is also a WiFi router and my computer is connected to the router by ethernet. Router is working well - no damage. My ethernet card is on-board.
