Computer doesn't start

Hi,
Yesterday I was working in the computer when suddenly there was one long beep and it turned off... I tries to turn it on but it shuts off again after about 3 seconds. All the fans working, the green light on the motherboard works but the computer won't just start. It's a year old computer by the way.
Any ideas what can I do?

Does it post? It could be that the mobo went out, same thing happened w/ my 4 yrs old $200 emachines comp. It could also do something w/ the proccesaor( i wouldnt take my word for it, just throwing up ideas) another culprit could be the power supply.
 
It just turns on for 3 seconds, however there are no noises or beeps or anything. Can it be the power supply? I mean everything works just find until it shuts off (all fans working, light on the motherboard, the cd drive).
 
newegg rma'd it, getting it this wednesday while i'm currently running the 2.4ghz 4400+dual core.

if you can, see if any1 u know has a compatiable mobo for you to test to see if it's the mobo and also the cpu.
