Computer for Data Analysis : SATA or SAS ?

Hello, at our lab we need a computer for data analysis and I was wondering if SAS was worth it. My guess would be that SAS is not worth it as we won't be able to use the extra speed of SAS due to processor bottleneck. What do you think ?

Hard drive speed is very often overrated. I had RAID0 with two raptors a while back, and the speed was only marginally faster than my current single 160GB drive(7200RPM...) Unless you go with a RAID using four drives, or maybe one of these RAM drives, I seriously doubt there'd be any real performance gain.
