Hi a friend asked me to build him a computer him. The problem is I can't figure out what are the best parts for his budget. He has $800 for it, and was wanting the pc, mouse/keyboard, os, and a monitor. He said he will mainly be gaming, but also using autocad software to help with school.
P.s I already have a extra psu from the corsair enthusiast Series(750w).

Very tight budget for what hes wanting,Especially including monitor.

This build comes to $919 which i know is over budget,But if hes wanting to any serious gaming then this is what he would be looking at,If he wants to bring down the cost then he will be reducing the performance quite a bit if he went for an i3 processor or something or reduced the graphics card even more.

What about an AMD processor that matches the I5? I have found these normally come in quite a bit cheaper and could well bring the total cost down to near budget.

well they are a good bit slower too, but they are still very fast really, i'm making a list now for ya.

and the 980 is a waste, a simple multiplier change on the 970 makes it a 980, and you might be able to hit the 3.8 with the 965 on a stock fan but not sure if you can do that much.
