computer for Mixing music or transfering old records on to a CD or DVD

I have a friend that’s a DJ and he was wondering if I could build him some sort of computer for this purpose. I think he should get a laptop and maybe some type of equipment to transfer his records and put them on CD or DVD after he mixes his music. I know that you would need special software to do this. I don’t know what to recommend for the software either. I some body can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

There are loads of softwares out there for capturing music e.g. AudioMagic which is free.

I would just get one of theses cables and plug from the equiptment into your PC via Mic jack.

The cable should only cost a few bucks at most.

There are lots of other ways of doing this, but this is easy and cheap ;)
