-So I put together a new computer (the one in my sig).
-The first week it ran great.
-Second week it started restarting itself on the loading screen or motherboard menu.
-Now it is freezing either on the loading screen or on the desktop, but once i get a game started it wont freeze during hours of play.
-the 555 isnt unlocked or overclocked anymore, its back to stock.
and now im noticing a lot of hangup on games, random lag spikes because the cpu is hitting its max. I play wow, it doesnt do this on my dualcore laptop.
So, what I thought it may be (tell me if im wrong or what I should start with)
Going to update Bios version
update drivers
clean registry (even though its a new computer?)
reapply thermal past
Get a new heatsink because the one it comes with is literally horrible
after that I will get a new cpu/mobo or both
A lot of people are having this problem (random reboots and freeze) with this motherboard. I dont want to replace it but now its past its return date too.. Reboots during the mobo menu and loading sounds like a motherboard issue. Freezes sounds like a overheating/unstable cpu
Oh and my Ram is okay. I checked it in other computers and it runs great. (my third set now since this motherboard is SUPER picky with what it accepts).
