Computer Freezes/Crashes

Hi All,

Well my problem started ever since I did a new install of my computer windows XP, I did this as my computer was starting to run slow and I usually do this anyway about every 6 months.

But now whenever I play a game or run a program sometimes the computer just freezes and I cannot do nothing, But this is the problem it does not do it every time it only does it on some occasions.

The problem was not here before I did the new install of XP before that the games worked and no problems,

Any help would be very helpful and any other information need just ask.

the installation could have been messed up somehow, since you reformat often anyways, maybe try a reformat and reinstall windows, I had one install just act crappy once so I reformatted within a week of installing it and it was fine then
 
Hi,

The thing is. Somtimes I turn on the computer and I can play the games like for long time without anything happening at all it only somtimes that it happens.
 
have you done things like chkdsk or memtest to see if it could be hardware related? And try a defrag, probably won't help but worth a shot I suppose. Could also try a repair of your windows installation with the boot disk

Well it did not happen before I did the re-install of XP, Is their a site that i can check to see if i need to update my drivers?
 
That's odd, usually reinstalling XP would help your computer, not damage it. Maybe there was some compatab.... no, that wouldn't explain anything... this is a pickle.
