Computer Freezing

Hey, I just got a new computer from cyberpower pc. Anyway, it keeps freezing when running. Sometimes in itunes or just being idle. Its brand new so I dont think its a virus, spyware, or software issue ( i havent downloaded anything but microsoft updates and nvidia drivers), so im thinking hardware. I did put in a new video card which isnt plugged in directly to the power supply. Though a 4 to 6 pin adapter is on its way. So i heard as long as you dont play any games on it, it will be fine til then. But is this the issue? The card is a MSI geforce 7900 GS 256 MB.

Thanks

Yeah, video cards still running in low power mode should be fine without that extra power. However, it wouldn't hurt to try it...

If this started after installing the video card, I'd definetly start with that. Remove it and see if it's ok without it. You also might want to consider running some sort of RAM checker and see if your memory's good. The power supply could be weak, but normally this wouldn't be so much a problem until you play games... It also could just be a faulty power supply.

The issue has been resolved. It was wierd. When it was in my cabinet it would freeze but if it was out it would work easy. All I really had to do was move around some cords and now it works like a charm.
