hope someone can help me?
I am trying to find info on computer game design, can anyone help? I'd like to also know about 3D modeling and the sound effects for games..

thanks

Computer Game Design starts with "what kinda game do you want to make" and then followed by developing infrastructure in a modular way (physics, sound, video, AI engines etc)

As for 3D modelling .... make a model in the animation program of your choice, make textures etc and use something like DirectX/OpenGL to put it together. Alternatively you can construct everything via triangles and just worry about making textures...

Sounds shouls be straight-forward...

Well you have to be able to draw very well using Computer drawing tools. But other than that if you can draw very well then it should be easy

im starting to get into 3d modeling, you will need to get familar with some basic tools in photo programs before you start. you will either have to take a class or learn by your self. either way you will have to get an expensive program like maya, 3dmax, lightwave( i think thats the name), or c4d( which i am using to get started). of the 4, c4d is the easiest to get familar with. I have looked around with minimal effort and found some pretty simplistic video tutorials. If you have the kind of dough to get these programs, its a very cool thing to be able to do. Sadly, the closest to a human ive been able to model is a grotesque cyclops with a messed up pupil and one jointed arms and legs. btw, im not artsy fartsy at all but i have been using photoshop for nearly a year now to a point where ive gained a TON of experience and I just recently started doing 3d modeling which kind of gives me the ability to create things i could never draw.
edit: c4d stands for cinema 4d
edit#2: the few computer game jobs i have seen have required work in maya or 3dmax so keep that in mind

Computer design can be a real pain in the butt to do. I use photoshop 7.0 and ImageReady.

Personally I don't like Computer Graphic Design
