Computer hardware replacement (GPU, power supply unit)

Hello everyone, first of all, I'm a noob in computer building and parts replacing etc.

So I have a medion PC with MS-7728 motherboard;
Inter(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz 3.40 GHz;
AMD Radeon HD 6670;
8192MB RAM;
FSP350-60EMDN Power supply unit.

Now I'd like to replace the AMD6670 with a GTX 980. I'm pretty sure I'd need to replace my PSU as well because http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-980/specifications requires at least 500W and my PSU only has 350W. I was thinking on replacing it with https://www.alternate.es/XFX/PRO550W/html/product/838244?

The thing is I don't know if these new parts are compatible with my current build, I don't want to buy a GTX980 and then say "o crap doesn't fit"

I would actually get a 600 watt power supply if you are getting the 980. It will work providing you have room in your case.

Yes a 980 would work in your setup as long as your case has enough room inside. Measure what size of card will fit in your case and check the dimensions of any card you are planning to get to make sure it fits. Yes you will need a new psu as a 980 need 30 amps.
ah my internet is so slow here in thailand, it took me so long to look up what the card needs and what the psu could deliver that john has beat me to it, but I agree with him.
How dare you john I was in the middle of typing :p

Yeah, I have no idea what the dimensions are inside. Best take of the side and measure the distance (where your card is now) from where I assume your hard drive bays are to the end of the case where the card is screwed in.
Or tell me the model number of the card you have now and how much room there is behind it.
Fortunately there dont seem to be any connectors on the motherboard behind the pcie port which is good, so many times I have see sata ports get in the way, even problematic with 90 degree sata connectors.

This is the internal of my comp and these were some specifications i found: Width: 18.5 cm Height: 36 cm Depth: 42 cm
There's like 15cm of free room behind the GPU but it's like at it's max width

Yeah you have plenty of room there, you could fit any card you wanted, but you might have to do some cable management.

It took you 14 minutes to type that? lol

O yeah 2 or 3 words a minute baby, don't get too jealous :)

Because of the time it took me the load the pages I needed, like several minutes a page and the lag time for my pages to update telling me a message had been left.
You had most likely posted that message before I had started mine and it only told me halfway through my message.
