Okay, I'm not a computing mastermind like I'm sure quite a few people here are, so I'm here for some assistance.
I'm looking to buy a high-quality, great-performance providing video/graphics card. I need something that will provide me with good, lag-free gaming for both emulated games and 3-D computer games.
I don't know if this is the same thing, but I'd also like to be able to get the stuff from my television onto my PC, like if I'm watching a VHS tape and want to record a certain part of it onto my computer so I can burn it to a DVD.
Plus, I need the card to be compatible with Direct3D (Which I don't know what it is, but lots of gamers say I should have it be compatible with, does anybody know where I can get Direct3D?).
Sorry if my questions sound retarded, but I'm not good with computers at all.
One more thing, my computer lags so bad when I'm playing even the smallest game not even a 3-D game. I run Windows XP (Dell inspiron 5100) and have a ton of free space (GBs worth) but it still lags like a bitch. Will the graphics/video card fix that?
Any suggestions of good cards, or techniques on how to solve these problems would be of great help to me. Thank you.
