First off heres relative system information
Intel Q6600
500 GB Sata
2GB COrsair DDR2 6400
EVGA Geforce 8800GT
ASUS P5N32-E SLI 680i
Thermaltake Toughpower 700 Watt

So my computer shuts down on its own. Once in a while when I play team fortress 2, and rarely outside of playing tf2, my computer will just shut down and power down. I just shrugged this off because i thought maybe my outlet doesnt have enough power ( i have like 5 things hooked up to a surge protector and another surge protector connected to the first one that has 3 things hooked on it) So im not sure whats going on. Recently i got really worried becase i tried turning on my computer again but one of the fans made a really wierd grinding noise i think and the screen was black with a white smear in the middle. Not sure whats going on. Help greatly taken. ( Computer is running but not sure whats going on)

My guess is your computer is shutting down b/c of temps are WAY too high. My avg idle temp is about 30C. The avg user is about 30-40C. Mine doesnt even reach 60c on FULL load. So, is your CPU fan working? If so, then my guess is you need new Thermal Paste or something.

could it be becuase i left my comp on 24/7 for the past 6 months? i did that to my old computer and it was fine. But yeah so want to explain more how to proceed now. like some quick fixes or what to do?

Oh i use a water cooler for my CPU.( Cooler Master Liquid Cooling Kit)

For starters, I'd grab a can of compressed air (Radio Shack , best Buy, etc.), open up your case, and clean out every spec of dust, paying special attention to your CPU HSF.

My guess is your water cooling system is messed up and not running b/c your temps are just WAY too high for a WC system.

i found the problem. So basically there is this big gaping air bubble from the tube going from the fan to the CPU. the water wont pump against the gravity because there isnt water or that the pump stop working.

so i established 2 things
pump maybe not working
big air bubble.

how to proceed?

Pardon my ignorance with WCing, but can't you just add more water?

But it is better reinstall your OS as fresh. It will resolve your problem

well adding just water could be potentially harmful becuase there are minerals that could build up residue and algae could potentially form. Also water just doesnt have the glycol in coolant.

I think some people suggested using car antifreeze but im cautions about using anything thats not standard procedure.

This is the product im looking for but I cant find it in the US
