computer loading problem (with pic)

I recently pulled my older computer from the closet so I could set it up for my parents. I plugged in the monitor/power cord/mouse and keyboard to make sure it starts up and lo and behold.. it does not. I cleaned the insides with compressed air and made sure all the hardware was plugged in firmly.

The computer does load, but only to the screen that shows the IDE card loading the hard drives that are attached to it. here's the screen..

The NOT DETECTED line is from a cd-rom I removed earlier and put on someone else's computer. After this screen, it turns black and that's it. The monitor is still on, but nothing. What could be the problem here? Thanks

Could well be that the Motherboard battery is completely flat if it hasn't been used for quite some time.

ive had the battery do that on a OLD computer once, but it doesnt make the computer not run, just dates and times are set when the computer is unplugged. i think that its probably a hard drive issue, or the OS is messed up. exchange the battery anyway, I might be wrong.

1.Change the battery.
2.If you have done that and you still get the problem you might want to reninstall windows.
3.If that does not work install a new Hardrive.
If you have any problems on how to do it say so.:)

yeah i would also suggest changing the battery
i had this old POS gateway all in one that would just stay black... woudnt make noise or anything
changed the internal battery and voila! booted up!
