Computer locking up after Anniversary update

So recently the computer at work finally got the Windows 10 Anniversary update. Since then, the computer has a habit a locking right up for like 5 seconds, seems about once a day. When I say locked, I mean the music that's playing makes that horrible sound, the mouse doesn't move, it's right locked. Then in like 5 seconds it's back to normal.

This wouldn't be so bad if this computer wasn't being used for the store music, so we get to hear this computerized garble once a day now.

Is this a known issue or any ideas? If we can't sort this out I think a Windows 7 install is in order...

Is your original Windows 10 install from an update of a previous OS? Or is it a clean Win 10 install?

It's an upgrade from Windows 7. I was thinking upgrade issue as well, I just thought it was strange for it to not happen for the first year of having the OS, and have it arise after the anniversary update.
I may try the built in "re-install" option in Windows first, but I think that involves reinstalling all the software, that's the main reason I've held off doing that.

I would highly recommend doing a fresh install of 10. I've seen a few issues with systems upgraded to 10 and then get the anniversary update and have issues. Had to revert 1 back to previous build last week due to bad update.

Might be an audio driver issue. My audio still does a crackle or popping sound if it gets too loud since I did my latest Windows reinstall. Still haven't figured it out yet.

Would the built in reinstall in the settings be good enough? Or should I use an iso image?

Nah, this is the computer actually locking up, the mouse won't move or anything. The sound it makes is the typical sound when the cpu locks up, it replays the same split second loop over and over reeeeally fast. Kind of lame to have playing over the store speakers for like 5 or so seconds, lol. Can't even turn it down because it's locked up, gotta go to the amplifier.
