Hey all, I'm having a frustrating problem with a relatively new laptop. Upon startup, the memory is always around 50% full, with very little free and only a fraction available. svchost.exe (LocalSystemNetworkRestricted) and svchost.exe (netsvcs) are frequently arounnd commit and working set KB values of 160,000+.
It's a Windows 7 Dell Inspiron with an Intel i3 M370 @ 2.40 GHz, 4 GB of RAM (Sytem Information usually lists only 1.95 GB or so of it available). The hard drive is mostly empty, and the computer isn't bogged down with unnecessary programs.
I went into msconfig and removed the startup programs I didn't need. As it is now, I have 3 Intel Common User Interface items still selected, plus some basic services (Dell Quickset, bluetooth software, IDT PC Audio, DW WLAN Card, Synaptics Pointing device driver, Symantec, IAStor Icon, and Altiris Deployment Agent for Windows).
Does anyone have any advice for how I can solve this? It just seems like an unnecessary issue that really slows down the computer.
