Computer Nightmare!

I recently built a computer, everything works great until I try to hook a second hard drive up. This second hard drive is probably messed up because it makes a lot of noise whenever it is used but I figure maybe I can hook it up as a slave and check to see if anything happens. Well, instead of the computer booting from the serial ata hard drive that is originally the main hard drive, it trys to boot from the second hard drive that is making all kinds of noise. I eventually pressed the escape key and tried to see what would happen if I changed the booting sequence and I believe I disabled the original hard drive from booting. Now the computer will not show anything on screen and the two cd-rom drives stay lit constantly. I cant even get the drives to open. All the fans are running. I just dont know how to fix the computer back to where it will run off of the serial ata hard drive and primary and slave cd drives....

Can somebody please help, if you need anymore info, please tell me.

Right... Can you still get into the BIOS, if you can then simply change the settings back to what they where. If you cant then read your mobo manual and find the jumpers to clear the CMOS. Once that is done you should be able to boot from your original HDD, make sure you take the dodgy slave one out before doing this. Also, try unpluggin the CD/DVD ROM drives before booting. Unplug all things that are NOT VITAL to booting.

What motherboard have you got, what HDD's are we talking about here.

As far as the two hard drives go, just hook up the one you want to use for the moment, that has your OS on it, and make sure the jumper on the back of it is set to 'master'. When you ass your second hard drive to the exisiting h/d make sure its jumper is set to slave.

However, you will first want to do what dragon2309 mentioned.
