Computer not Booting Up.

My friend built himself a computer a while back and it worked just fine for about 6 months until one night he turned it off and the next morning got a "No Signal Input" displayed on his monitor and has not been able to get it to start since. He brought it to me and so far I can't fix it, I'm thinking the motherboard or CPU is toast but I thought I'd post something here to see if anybody has any ideas. The bitch of it all is that his computer case did not come with a speaker hook up for his mobo so I can't hear any beeps to see if something is blatently messed up. I tried connecting the speaker wire from my case to his to see if I got anything but I got nothing, I didn't hook everything from my case into his just the speaker wire. I also tried unplugging everything from the mobo except the power but that was a no go either. Also, his Video card is good. I tried my video card in his first thinking that was busted but I got nothing and then his worked fine in my computer. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

He has:
Epox EP-8NPAJ Mobo
AMD Athlon 3400+
Radeon X800XL Video Card
1 GB Kingston RAM
250 GB Sony HD

umm ive seen this problem before. this usually happens at school when they hook a DVD player, VCR, and a computer to a projector. what they usually do is change the connection. what might be the problem is that the connection somehwhere it is not picking up the signal. ill look around talk with some of my friends and see if they know what the problem might be and meybe they know how to fix it.

Re-Adjust the processor (check if there are any damages) and re-insert the heatsink and make the proper connection.

Well, I pulled out the heatsink and when I did the CPU came out with it, stuck to the bottom of the heatsink so it might now have been secure. Don't know if he didn't put it in right or it was just stuck to the bottom of it and pulled it out through the lock. After doing all that, trying to start it without the RAM in and then using my power supply it still wouldn't start. Its really a pain without that speaker wire.

tru its a hassle when you cant really hear the beeps, u kno its the tiny things that matter, my buddie told me what it could be the wire connection

Alright, well I pulled out the mobo and hooked it up to an old case I had lying around with the speaker wire and I'm pretty sure I got it all right and there are no beeps, but every thing turns on on the mobo. The lights, all the fans, the fan over the chipset...everything. Just no beeps

bump, cause the same happened to me. i'm runnin a Abit KN8, we both have the same chipset, i wonder if that could be the problem. i moved mine from one room to another and its doin the same

The beeps that you were looking to here do not come out of the speakers.

Anyway, Are you running the graphics from a Graphics card or on board?
