My computer has been able to turn on but will not get passed the screen with the green bar going through that cycle loading for ever. 4 hours the other day untill I turned it off. I have a 500g seagate, but I put in another one that was 160g, and it asked me to put in instalation disk because its new. I dont mind having a fresh hardrive, However I dont want to Downgrade that much. Is there anyway I can fix this hardrive? Also I dont know if that has anything to do with it, but I closed something out in processes and it made everything execpt my background go away, and it started messing up after that, and would not load after the reset. I dont have the vista home premium disk so I have to call Cyberpower and ask for one to be sent. Also there are no scorch marks on the hardrive so I dont think the pbc is ruined.

Upgraded the ram to 8g with 4 2g sticks

Nothing else was changed, And computer was working for 4 months after the upgrade.

Have you tried doing a drive diagnostic on the HDD? This could be anything from a software issue or corrupt OS. Have you tried booting to safe mode?

Go into the bios and make sure the system date and time is correct. Otherwise you'll need a vista install cd to repair the install or install a fresh copy. I can send you a link to download the vista cd and then you can use it repair the install. Maybe even running a checkdisk /r at a command prompt may help.

yea sweet that would be awesome, could u send the link? cyber powers communication is so bad, ive been trying for weeks.

Do you have 32 or 64bit Vista? It will take some time to upload to dropbox and then I'll send you the link that way. I'll need your email address, send me a pm with it.

Yep 64 bit. You'll need your own code only if you reinstall it. Don't need the code to repair. I'll email you the link once its uploaded to dropbox.

It will be an ISO file. You'll need to use a program that will burn the image to a dvd, you just can't copy the file to a dvd. You can download IMGburn or if you have nero or roxio installed already, they can do it.
