I have a HP PavillionM7560n desktop. It is an older computer that I let me kids use for school and games. Just recently the computer would power down by itself. After restarting it the computer will come on and the fan will run at high speed continuosly. Sometimes it will stay on until Windows will boot up, other times it won't make it more than 15 seconds. I opened it up to look for anything obvious, cleaned any dust in it but no change. Could this be an overheating issue causing it to shut down? Could it be a false temperature reading since the computer hasnt been running at all and still shuts down quickly? Where would be a good place to start? Any suggestions appreciated.
