Since the last few days, when ever I exit out of a full screen game, such as NFS: Most Wanted or Step Mania, I get to the desktop, but it is like the computer has forzen. I can't clcik on anything, alt+f4 and control+alt+delete does nothing, the computer doesnt respond to anything. The only thing i can do is restart the computer byt pressing hte button. WHat is the problem?

There are actually a few different things that can cause this type of problem. One common term is driver glitches for video and sound with another being faults that have developed with the installed memory. You could be seeing something overheat. But there three things that can fool a good number of people.
1) battery on main board weak and needs replacement on older boards.
2) Software problems like video and sound drivers or even system files.
3) the cpu or bios is now starting to fail if not simply overheating.

Anti virus programs are also noted for seeing problems come up when gaming. Some games won't even start correctly if one is running. You have to disable those temporarily in order to run a game. It does sound more like a need to update video and sound drivers to start with however. If you have already done that you can lower sound acceleration by typing "dxdiag" at the Run prompt and go over to the slider to reduce it there. The troubleshooting section in the advanced tab in settings for the display has the graphics acceleration that can be reduced one or two notches to see if that helps.
