Hi Folks,

I have been having issues with updating windows. When I tried to install a security update my computer goes blue and has irql_not_less_or_equal written at the top and needs reseting. When I reset the computer it sometimes comes up 246/ 246 registry (or similar) then reboots and runs as normal.

I have tried malbytes, AVG and superanti spyware but got no results

Could someone look over this log? Thanks in advance.

if your using windows xp, go to my computer, right click it and click manage, then click local users and management, then users, how many users do you have in there?

Also go to control panel, windows firewall, what are the exceptions in there? Anything shady? You could have some sort of bootime virus, but that would usually show up in a scan... hmm.. this is a tricky one
 
What exactly is the security update? I see no major issues in your log, some entries could be stopped from running at bootup though. Updates sometimes do play havoc with an operating system. Are you getting the update from windows update? Can you give me the update number?
 
The update is showing as pending in status. I am using getting the updates through control panel---> update

What entries would you remove from boot up that won't effect the system? Can I still run them if I choose to after cancelling them?
