Computer randomly shuts down...

I recently moved. I am now somewhat settled and I just installed an ethernet driver and my new Linksys modem and connected to the internet for the first time in my new house yesterday. Anyway, everything was working fine (went from 2Mb/sec to 4Mb/sec for the same price :D ) but now my computer will just randomly shut down. I figure that it has something to do with the driver I just installed. Anyway, I go to the Gigabyte website and there are no ethernet drivers to download. What should I do now?

By the way, I'm running XP pro and my motherboard has onboard ethernet control.

Well, everything was fine prior to the move correct? I think those random shutdowns may have to do with the addittion of the new hardware, or your psu. I would try removing the new hardware components one at a time and see what happens. Your psu may have been damaged in the move, or may not be giving out enough power.

what chipset does the mobo has?

i had problems finding a sounddriver for my old pc. ( ECS ) with a VIA chipset.
after looking on the ECS homepage, i didnt have the drivers,.. then i looked on the VIA website, and found the right drivers for it.
so, you might want to chech that out

I'm sure that nothing was damaged in the move. I put the computer back in the box that the tower came in and it rode along in the seatbelt in my back seat. I've got an OCZ 520W power supply and I've checked all the connections. I had the computer up and running for 4 days before the internet was hooked up doing word processing and playing music and it was fine. All troubles occured after installing the driver and connecting to the internet.

The motherboard has the Intel i915P/i915G chipset. I'll try looking on Intel's webpage to see if they have anything.

I actually went to the broadcom website last night and downloaded the wrong driver! I'll try the correct one. Hopefully it will work. Thanks Archangel!

you've tried to uninstall the drive, reboot the system and then let windows automaticly install the driver? ( that worked for me the last time i had trouble with my old ecs board with onboard lan)

This is kind of suprising. I updated my video driver and it seemed to work. :o It hasn't shut down on me yet since the update. I appriciate the help.
