go to ur local hardware store and buy a flashlight and a philips screwdriver lols. i just got done with my second year of computer info systems and my teacher (who also worked as a network admin for a large company) says thats all u really need, and really, thats all u really do need, i mean sure theres gonna be a few jobs here and there where ur gonna need something else but u'll use those tools the most by far.
Check out Newegg. Most of the kits are pretty good. Though I got a rosewill kit and the soldering iron wasn't any good. It shorted itself out when I first plugged it in.

A philips screwdriver, a pair of tweasers and a hammer. If the first two dont work you use the third one.

I'd say a good 90% of the time, a simple toolkit from Harbor Freight does all I need.

This is the kit I normally grab and I usually don't need anything more. If I need something else, it's usually something pretty specific, like wire strippers or something

what i did was went to walmart lol, i got i think its a 75 piece kit, Ratchet screw driver, tons of bits, also its black and decker so its pretty durable, then i bought a dremel, a nice set of wire strippers, needle nose pliers, soldering iron, 2 things of solder, and 5 pack of electrical tape, and like a smaller toolbox type get up that holds it all, i aslo got one of those plastic things that people use to put their pills in so they can seperate em and what not, but i put screws in it. all in all i spent around 80 on everything but i also grabbed some extra dremmel bits and what not.

Yeah, a telescoping magnet(kinda like the way a tv rabbitear antenna telescopes) is great also for getting thumbscrews when they fall on the ground and you dont feel like getting up..
